Okinawa's only classic car rally event, the Classic Car Rally OKINAWA, marked its 4th year. The number of participants from the host prefecture Okinawa has increased every year. This is probably because this event has been spreading the fun of rally and the charms of vintage cars to both inside and outside of Okinawa. 35 cars from all over Japan entered for this year's rally, driving through Okinawa in the early spring for two days.

The weather at this time of year in Okinawa tends to be unstable, and according to the weather forecast, it would rain today too. The grey clouds were hanging over the starting venue Ginowan Marina. The entrants installed a convertible top on their car beforehand and got ready for the start. The weather was a worry for them but they set off for the first destination Yonabaru Marina with a smile.

The entrants competed the first PC competition (a measurement competition to drive a designated section in a designated time in seconds) at the Yonabaru Marina, then headed to the next point Chuko-gura. After getting the first stamp there, they headed back to the Ginowan Marina.

It looked like it was about to rain at any moment, but still the entrants were concentrating hard on the PC competition at the Ginowan Marina. Even though the strong wind was blowing, they were stepping on a measurement line carefully without losing concentration.

After leaving the Ginowan Marina, the entrants had lunch, then traveled to Okinawa Ryukyu Village, a theme park that reproduces a traditional Okinawan village, in Onna Village. They took a 30-minute break and had a look around the village for a while. By the time they left the village, it started to rain, so they rushed to the next destination.

The entrants traveled further north to Higashi Village. As they arrived at the next PC competition venue, the Higashi Village Culture & Sports Memorial Hall, the rain became heavier and relentlessly sapped their energy. After finishing the competition, the party headed to Taiho Dam for today's last PC competition. The section from the Higashi Village Culture & Sports Memorial Hall to Taiho Dam was also another PC competition. In this long-distance competition at the end of the day, the entrants were put to the test of whether or not they would be able to stay focused on the competition in the rain.

A gala was held in the evening, and when the rankings of day one were announced, the entrants got excited. They had a great time talking about the course, the competitions, the weather and the scenery, and the party continued far into the night.
